WOW! I have been look at gaming desktops and I found some really great deals. I also found a ton of information I thought I might pass on to you. This has really helped me and made shopping a lot easier than I thought it would be this year. Gaming computers are great for anyone on your list that is into computer games.
Yes they do cost a bit more than your traditional computer but they come with a lot of extras as well. If you play a lot of games then you know that you need a good graphics card to be able to play them right. This is really important and my son says I have to get him the best graphics I can find.
He is also talking about memory. He says he needs at least 2GB for a lot of his games to play correctly. When I asked the sales person he said that the memory and the graphics cards work together and really bring the games alive on your computer screen and the memory helps your computer run a lot faster and play the games better as well.
I already know a bit about hard drives. These determine how much can be stored on you computer. You also need free space for certain programs like games to run correctly so having a big hard drive is a plus all the way around. I know I love to store photos and music on mine.
Some companies will custom build your gaming desktop to fit your individual needs. You should keep in mind that most expensive doesn't always mean best and look for the options you will need. If the computer is for a younger person then you may want to go with a cheaper model. Gaming desktops range in price from under $500 to over $5000.
The system I bought also has a lot of room for upgrades so he can put what he wants on it later on and it has an anti-virus program so I know it is safe from hackers and spyware. Someone said I should look at back up programs but I haven't yet.
I have already ordered mine for my son and I got a wonderful deal at a Christmas sale. I know this is something he will love and get plenty of use from. I can't wait to see his face on Christmas morning.
