If you are not totally familiar with different computer languages and operating systems, you may not know how Linux, cPanel, and PHP hosting can be used in order to create the complicated and dynamic computer programs currently in use today. If you are a web developer, chances are that you use at least two of these programs in your daily work, and are at least somewhat familiar with the third.
Different languages and programming methods are useful for different things. If you are not a programmer you may be surprised how many times a day you indirectly encounter these programs in the sites you visit and the applications you use.
Many people have heard of Linux and PHP, but cPanel may be much less widely known to people who are not web developers. If you are interested in learning more about any one of these programs, you may be able to find courses online or at a local college that can give you information about them and instruction on how to use them for your own computer programming and web development needs.
There are also books on the market which can help you learn to use these programs and make them work for you. They can be very helpful if you are trying to achieve specific functionality for web sites or applications and so learning about them can be a great asset to you and your business.
Linux is a computer system and is something that many people may have heard of whether or not they are web developers. It is often used in servers although it can also be used as part of the embedded software in different electronic devices. These can include cell phones, PDA's and supercomputers. It was becoming less well known but now that netbooks are becoming increasingly popular, Linux is becoming more commonly used again. One of the advantages of the Linux system is that it can be used and programs developed for free. This freedom has led to many programmers using it as the system on which they build their programs and has helped it become a common, if slightly misunderstood term for many beginning computer users and programmers.
cPanel is based on the Unix system although it is less popular than other Unix-based programs. Linux is also a Unix-based program. CPanel can be finicky and cause problems for users. A smooth user interface is one thing that many people look for in a given program and if one such as cPanel causes problems, it is less widely used. However, that is not to say that cPanel is not used at all, just that it is less commonly utilized. The popular program WordPress uses cPanel in order to install program updates as do several other popular programs.
PHP hosting is another term that many people have heard of. Web developers often use the scripting language PHP because it is versatile and can be used for many different uses. It is very useful since it can take in information streams and output information in another programming language such as HTML. You may not realize it but websites such as Facebook were written in PHP. PHP as a language can create very dynamic and visually interesting websites. PHP hosting allows for these websites to be hosted properly and in such a way that users can interface with it and utilize the websites.
It is not hard to learn about each of these programs and applications. Learning how to use them effectively is something that is more difficult.
