Before coming to Asia, you must do some good research and choose on which type of experience you are seeking; or how about visiting a few countries in the large continent?
It takes more time to fly to Asia from the UK; than it takes to fly to Europe and other countries like America. Planning is the key to a good trip; - whether you want to visit one country or a few more? There are some travellers who visit Asia with the intention of viewing a few countries.
Some of the most sought after tourist destinations are China, Japan, India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Thailand; however there are several destinations to pick from. The popular destinations have frequent flights and reasonable rates. The rarer locations usually have less availability and hence the prices are too high. You can usually take a flight from any main UK airport, to any destination in Asia, via the major Airlines such as British Airways, Cathay Pacific Virgin, to name a few. Some of the destinations will need a change of flight; and you must check to see if there are any hitches with a UK passport when going to your destination.
Asia stretches almost half way across the globe, therefore depending on where you travel, the climate will vary. You have a combination of the driest, hottest, wettest and coldest places on earth. Central Asia is very far from the Ocean so you have the extremes of the weather; hot, dry summers and cold, wet winters. Apart from on the mountainous terrain, most of the land is desert. In North Asia, the climate is similar to central Asia but wit more rainfall. In south Asia, the climate is very hot as it is closer to the equator. Generally there is no winter but a rainy monsoon season (such as in India and Thailand). Rainy season will last from June to October when the rain is incessant and relentless; annoying for the sun seeking tourists but essential for the locals who rely on this rain for their crops to grow.
Asia is a huge place and therefore has plenty of things to do, no matter what it is you enjoy. Russia is an incredible country to visit, although it is always wise to stick to the large cities and guided tour holidays.
Tourists also like South East Asia; for lovely beaches, visit Malaysia and Thailand; for technology bites, visit Hong Kong and Japan; India and Pakistan have regular flights, and have a very hot weather plus delicious food to experiment and various sightseeing places to explore.
